Lion in Wait

Here's another big cat. I strangely remember painting quite a few of these, but apparently I've only painted three before this one. And only 48 cats in general.

Observant

Here's a slightly bigger cat than yesterday's cutie.

And regarding that, thanks to all who emailed me about the name of an orange cat. I changed the name/title to "Ginger." Your feedback is much appreciated. : )

I will be teaching a still life workshop this fall (Oct 19-23, 2026) in Nashville, TN.

Registration will open in one week: Monday, Jan 12th at 8am, CST. When the time comes, go here.

Important: You won't be able to register before next Monday. FYI, my last two workshops filled in less than 10 minutes, so be there or be square. : )

It's a 5-day workshop, and the cost is $985.

I have made a lot of progress on my online tutorial about painting animals! I'm really excited about how it's going. I've also been working on some other fun little things that I'm going to start posting on Instagram soon. Here's a link to me there.

Sad Sack

I found this adorable racoon on Pixabay. The background in the original reference was pretty boring, so I played around with alternatives on my ipad and settled on this one - I would call it a tomato red. And that's why he's sad - he didn't find any tomatoes.

I Spotted You

Here's another fun little acrylic. But this time the reference came from a friend who actually went to Africa and found this gorgeous feline and took the picture! Many thanks to my good buddy Paul Kratter for allowing me to use this photo (and more to come). Paul not only paints amazing animals, but pretty good trees too. ; ) Definitely check him out.
