Faith Surprised
Above is my interpretation of Faith Te, one of our Daily Paintworks featured artists. And below are pictures of my kids in Jacksonville this last week. It was a good group, kind of quiet actually. I told them they could chat during the demos but they insisted on watching ... of all things!
Below are my demos from class (all sold). I thoroughly enjoyed doing still lifes again and am looking forward to doing more once I get set up. I am having to replace everything in my studio and have made some interesting discoveries so far, which I will be sharing shortly.
And below are all my kids from Jacksonville. Someone always asks after I post these pictures - why not more guys? Honestly, I don't know. Maybe they are afraid of me? Don wasn't (orange shirt, below).
I've had several inquiries about purchasing this painting, so I decided to go ahead and auction this one.

Moo

I apologize for not posting more this week. Except really it wasn't my fault, it was my wild and crazy kids! They kept me out 'til all hours, every night. Making me play miniature golf and drink "pretty darn good" ice cream drinks (the rum made it pretty darn good!). So while they look awfully studious in these photos (below), they're actually quite devious:
The space here at the Peninsula School of Art was perfect. I have never been to a more well-organized school. The buildings and grounds are beautiful, the nearby towns are super cute, and all the restaurants are awesome! And no, no one is paying me to say this. : ) Below are my demos for the week (all sold):
And here are my latest kids - so cute but so baaaad. And I mean that in the very best way. : )
BUILD-A-BLOG class this weekend (sorry for the late notice): Aug 13-14, 1-4pm, CST.

Conjoined Twins - SOLD
Click Here to BidI'm all done with my latest workshop, and ready to report. Below are my demos from class (all sold). It's not the best image, but it's tough to get a good one amid the hustle and bustle of a workshop.
Below are my kids working - those slackers I was talking about in my last post. I know they look focused and dedicated, but 2 seconds after these photos I swear they were totally goofing off! : )
This has been a really awesome location for a workshop. The classes are held in a cool old barn, and every night we get together in the main house for wine and food and art and life talk. Despite their complaining, we had a ton of fun together!

"Free Lovin' Tomatoes" - SOLD
Click Here to Bid (bidding will begin tonight, Monday, Feb 14, at 7 PST)Happy Valentine's Day! I am currently in Apex, NC, inbetween 2, 3-day workshops. Below are my demos from the first class and below that are some of my kids working. They were pretty well behaved as kids go, but please note the amazon woman in the group shot - one of the nicest people I've met, but pretty intimidating size-wise. The tough thing about helping her was not being able to get the same vantage point on her still life. I would have had to stand on a chair (should have thought of that, dang).

"Stampede" - SOLD

The workshop is going GREAT, here in Louisiana. Of course, they are complaining already, on the second day, that I am working them like slaves. But I keep telling them, it's for their own good. Just wipe those tears away and start again. Here are a couple of the sweeter (looking) ones working on value studies.

And here is a horrible photo of my demos from today and yesterday. What am I going to paint tomorrow? - not another plate, I'll tell you that. : )

"Oh Romeo Oh Tomato" - SOLD

I had my husband look at this painting and he said "the tomato is courting the fork" (the fork is in the cup). So I figured the fork is Juliet and is calling down to her tomato Romeo. Or is that too cutsie? : )
Below are my demos from the Maine workshop. Tomorrow I will post photos from my 2 days of painting in Maine after the workshop.
