I am happy to report we are (knock on wood) closing on our house in 2 weeks! Which means we have to get the last of our junk out of it by then, which is what we've been working on the last few days. I did this painting a few days ago to get ahead since I knew I'd be away from the easel. It is of an Indian Paintbrush. I've been wanting to paint one for ages, and I'm really happy with how it turned out!
Carol...This is lovely, I love the way you have captured the form of the vase and the glass is amazing! Let's not forget the flower....IT's a great painting!
Love this painting, exquisite reds, and such an interesting way to position the flower. Good luck on the house closing.
Fantastic work, Carole. I don't know how you manage it with such consistency.

Lovely, lovely, lovely. The reds are fantastic and the looseness of it is wonderful.
The flower is great, but I really like the glass!
Wow, love the amber/cranberry color of the vase...sooo appealing!
Caroll, I love the angular feel in the unique brushwork inherent in all of your work. What brushes do you prefer?
And well you should be (really happy)! I want to thank you for posting all this work. I get so much enjoyment from looking at your brushwork and color and value choices. I try to determine what makes a painting appeal to me and what makes me "move right along" for other paintings, in the hope that it will help my own progress. Your composition is so grounded, and of course that enviable casual looseness.
What a jewel! I love this red glass and the bright white around the flower.
