This title is a big lie. This is not a chocolate bunny, though I think it looks like one here. It is actually a black, ceramic bunny. I did a very similar painting for my 20th ever daily painting and thought I'd show it here for comparison. The original, below, was lit with a whiter light, where the above is lit with a yellowish spotlight. What do you think - have I improved a bit since then?

... Yes. And you inspire us to keep practicing. Thanks.
I think you have. I love your almost-square-ish strokes, you're a 'current impresionist' to me...
UH, YEAH! thanks for the inspiration...to paint every day. I'm just in such a hurry!
It's interesting to see how the simplicity of your brushstroke has changed. What number painting is this...520? You're a machine.
I think you're my hero! Mary Sue
I like the new one better. I like that you painted it to look like chocolate. The values are better and I like the composition better too.
Oh man, that looks yummy!
Amazing! You should be really proud of your commitment and progress. The first was definitely you, the second is a more "colorful", defined you. I love the new one!
WOW! Now this is fun to see. Not that the first one isn’t fine in it’s own right, but what you are bringing to the canvas now is out of this world! If there was any question whether hard work and discipline make a difference, this is the answer. You inspire us all!
I recently cruised through your archives and saw this painting. I wanted to see how you'd improved. Really, you were good to begin with, but you've honed your craft.
It takes miles of canvas.
Inspiring, as always.
Your hard work has paid off! Complete inspiration (-:
WOW! I really like the darker palette. Your brushwork is stunning and now we can see where it comes from, Bravo!
Big difference-and I thought you had been a master all your life. I subsc. to your emails last year and have really enjoyed seeing your art work everyday! Thanks!
Incredible, Carol.....the improvement is remarkable...you are an inspiration in your daily painting, economy of brushwork and clear direct method.....I need to keep after it! I really love this little painting!
Thanks,Carol, for being willing to show your early stuff again. What a hopeful post for the rest of us. It makes us hope for our own improvement with hard work and tenacity. Thanks!
Wow Carol! How long ago was the first one done? I've been following you for a while and your work has always been fantastic, but holy cow what an improvement! The color in the reflected lights on the front of the bunny is just to die for... Beautiful =)
It is so encouraging to see both of these! You've become so well known and so talented that it is easy for the rest of us to forget how long it must have taken and how many miles of canvas for you to be where you're at today.
Yes, you've dramatically improved!
What an extremely fun painting! It really looks like milk chocolate.
I sense what you talked about a few posts back - your edges have become looser, more interesting, less rigid. That's where I find most of the 'sweet spots' in your work.
Carol, thanks so much for posting your previous bunny with your current one. It definitely shows that practice improves our work. I appreciate seeing your progress. Makes it easier for me to hope to achieve greater progress in my own work.
What a difference!I think you see more color now and so much more. I love seeing your freshness. I just got accepted in a 50/50 show...50 paintings in 50 days...that is a drop in the bucket!!! Look at you. You do this everyday and you amaze me every day! Thank-you so much for the constant inspiration.
yes, there is a big difference...not that the first one wasn't any good! I love checking in on you every day to see what you are up to. You have mastered capturing reality in a looseness I wish I could achieve.
