Vintage Milk

This is my example painting for this week's Daily Paintworks Challenge - The Polka-Dot Challenge! This is my favorite recent find on Ebay. Doesn't it remind you of the requisite glass of milk we all drank as kids with dinner?

NEW ARTBYTE: I just put out a new online lesson. This one's on proportion. It is called "Getting Proportions Right" and if you're interested you'll find it in the DPW ArtByte Store.

Fantastic! Love the variety of whites and oranges and handling of a very complex subject disguised as simple nostalgic whimsy.

This is probably my favorite by you.

The Polka-Dot Challenge sounds like it was made for you. For that matter, it sounds like it was made by you. In any case, it would be hard to top this!

BTW I sent this to my students so they can see that 'gray is the way'.
It pleased me to hear them say that they had learned so much about graying color.
I honed that with you ;)

This is beautiful, and with such a limited palette and simple composition. Yes, it brings back memories :)

I saw a girl drinking milk out of a glass like this in a commercial this past weekend and thought of you.... I can't remember if it was for Target (stores) or is it was a milk commercial.
Of course this past weekend with the Indy 500 being run, drinking milk is a big deal. I don't know if you know but the winner of the race will drink milk as the victor! They also get paid an extra large sum of money for doing it!

Good timing! Drink milk!
