When I was set up to paint this I was very aware of a buzzing nearby. Upon exploration I found a hole in the hillside several feet from where I stood with bees streaming in and out. Luckily, my parents had a hive when I was growing up so I didn't ... you know, freak out or anything. And I didn't get stung.
On a less buggy note, one of my paintings is now on the cover of a book! Perishables by Tina Egnoski (see below).
