I got this little, ceramic pear in the mail not too long ago. I was quite perplexed because, while it was so ME (green & spotted) I had no idea who had sent it. Finally, about an hour later my husband said "oh yeah, your mom said she was sending something." (Well, why didn't you say something earlier, sweetheart?!) My mom is always looking out for me - thanks, mom!!
Will post some photos from this workshop soon ...

Thank goodness for Moms!
I appreciate the simplicity. Though it's uncommon I totally understood it as a spotted pear. Beautiful.
I like your style. The square brush strokes make it identifiable as a Carol Marine. Just curios on your materials. Ive been messing with oils and I'm loving it. So far Ive used canvas rough, gessoboard reall smooth stuff, and Ampersand gessobord which I like as well. I just started using refined linseed oil and trying to get used to it, lol. Whats your pallete? brand etc. Ive been using Winsor & Newtons artist grade so far. Keep painting!!

Carol, thanks for these inspiring works. You've got me wanting to have a go at still life again after years of avoiding it.
I even did a digital apple in Photoshop tonight, just to get it out of my head.
