"One Across"

BUY NOW $90

I've been trying lately to play around more with edges - specifically make more of them soft, leaving the important stuff crisp. For some reason this has been EXCEEDINGLY difficult for me. My brain says "NO NO NO!" I managed to do it some here and I like it.

In other news, we have been on hold with the studio for a while so we could get the old house ready for the market. This last week we have been working on the layout and adding up how much wood we'll need. Tomorrow the wood will be delivered - I will post more on the other blog then, with a link here.

Your paintings have beautiful edges! It looks as if it is effortless for you. They are loose but refined and energetic while still being clean. I admire your ability to capture such beauty in the everyday! The colors in this one are especially appealing.

peppers must be the in thing. I've also just done a bunch of crazy peppers but don't compare with yours! The crispness of the greens comes through hear and I see what you mean about the edges, lovely. r.

Such a great color combination! And wow...the edges are indeed "soft". Those vanishing edges are so hard to accomplish, but you make it look much too easy!!!

Carol. what beautiful edges, and what a beautiful painting. I love the softness of blurry edges on the far side of the plate, and the criper edges of the pea pods, the contrast is wonderful! Great colors, too!

Nice!
It's amazing that you captured the shiny nature of the skin of peas (or peppers or whatever) so well with just a few highlights.
I love it!

The composition is really nice here. Not only in how the jalapenos are arranged but how the plate is off to the upper right corner.

I'm a hue fan of the color green but the turquoise background in this painting steals the show!

Oh, I love your jalapenos - I must try painting them before I make salsa!
