"Hungover"
Thanks to Lady Bird Johnson, along any major TX road in spring you will find tons and tons of beautiful wildflowers! It's a little bit of a drive for me to get them (the upside is I live far away from any road noise!) but I have access to quite a few varieties. This is a Coreopsis and at first when trying to come up with a title I thought it looked like a drink umbrulla. But it sags a bit and the "drink" is almost empty, and the colors are a bit after-hours looking ... hence the title.

Great title and title story. Getting a good title can be tough.............nice job!
Did I say nice brush work?
Nice brush work!
Clever title and nice work on this.
What thrills me, is to see your 'flower' being used over and over again. Have you ever thought of painting EVERLASTING FLOWERS? Just think of all the work that could come from just one!
i love this one. i especially love the greyed colors! i think the single flower is such a powerful statement - and easier to convey. yesterday i wiped off a stab at some lilacs in my yard - i had a handful and it got way out of hand. how many of you guys have to wipe off your daily effort? bummer!
Susie and Carol,
I have a basement full of wipe-offs that should have been wiped-off. I think they do show us what we've learned though. Love the yellow showing through and the cerulean shade of blue on the table. Hope the studio is coming along!
Great color and brushwork. I have enjoyed looking back at your work. And wow, a painting a day for the past two-and-a-half years? That's very ambitious. I look forward to seeing more.

I love your loose, but direct brushstrokes, Carol. I'm always impressed by the grays you get. You make it look easy!
Cute title!
Definitely matches the muted greens, blues, and grays in the painting.
At least the flower wasn't driving!

fabulous violet-gray compliment really makes that flower sing. Brushwork, as always, lively and fresh!
