Way, Way Down
I'm pretty sure this is called the Crooked River. I know it's kind of a post-card-y shot, but I couldn't resist. I love how the color of the water changes as it goes back, and as it goes under the bridge.

The Green River
This is a scene from our trip across Oregon this summer. The star of the scene is the Deschutes River, where it passes through Cove Palisades State Park. The water was incredibly green due to an over-abundance of some kind of algae. I don't know if it's always like this, or if this was unusual, but I thought it was pretty cool. Well, green IS my favorite color.
I also wanted to show you an abstract painting I did. Sometimes I start with an idea or a photo as a jumping off point, but this was totally spontaneous. Sometimes that's just the ticket to loosen me up, and an antidote to tight painting. It was fun. Bidding starts at $1.

Fall River (twice)
Click Here to Bid (6x12in. - starts at $1)
Click Here to Bid (6x12in. - starts at $1)
I'm doing a cheap two-fer today and I'll tell you why. This the same scene done twice. The top one was painted on location, with the sun shining bright. The bottom one was from a photo taken when there was a cloud blocking the sun, painted back in my studio, with a different crop and no bridge. There are a good number of paintings from this trip I deemed not worth showing. I was on the fence with these two. And when I'm not sure I start the bidding low.
Fall River is pretty cool because the whole thing comes right out of the ground. We didn't get far enough upriver to see that, but I hear it's pretty awesome. This was near our second stop - south of Bend. We camped at McKay Crossing for 3 days, which was lovely.

Portland Skyway
sold
In other news, yesterday I got a pre-copy of my book!!! And I am so absolutely bowled over by it, I actually went out into the street and yelled, "I'M SO HAPPY!" That's how happy I was...am. It looks amazing! So you know, you can still pre-order it on Amazon. (and save quite a bit by doing so). The official launch date is Nov. 4th.

Covered Bridge
sold
There are a number of these covered bridges in Oregon. This particular one is on Dexter Lake, which is pretty close to Eugene. I painted this a few days ago, on location, but the sun was behind quite a few, very big clouds. There was an enormous, green hill in the background, which I didn't particularly like, so I made it smaller and foggy. I think it turned out.
