This is my last one from Cove Palisades. There was a waterfall just to the left of this scene, but I decided it would be way too cliche to include. Plus it was all in shadow. Plus I liked it better this way.
I ended up mostly painting over what I painted in the field. Again. I like it a lot better now. I would love to paint cliffs again. All the little bits in light and shadow are fun to interpret with paint.

Carol, such exciting colors - between the cool blues and grays in the background and that aqua/greenish in the mid ground and then the warmer color in the bottom right and all the grays on the cliff - and it is hard to believe this piece is only 8 x8 " - delightful!
