I spotted these two gals coming out of the downtown library in NYC last spring. I spent about 5 years on each of their faces. When I paint from photos, they are generally on my laptop. It helped with the faces to zoom in on each while I worked on them. Can you tell they're smiling?

This painting is terrific, Carol! I know what you mean about spending 5 years on the faces-and your patience really paid off. Of course I can tell they are smiling. I wonder if people ever recognize themselves in your work. Great job.
