The last time I tried painting roses I had a heckuva time. This time didn't seem
easy, but maybe easiER. It seems no matter what I paint, if I squint, and paint what I see as I'm squinting, it usually turns out. This is especially true with roses. If you get bogged down in the details you get lost REAL fast.

You are so right. I have never painted one successfully, probably trying too hard for exact copy instead of "feeling". One time I graphed a rose figuring if I copied into each little square I would get it..NOT! I couldn't even follow it that way. SQUINT Yours are absolutely beautiful.
I LOVE IT !
Beautiful Carol! The orange roses with the complement of the blue background is wonderful.
this is beautiful Carole, the complimentary blues and oranges work so well and your composition is spot on, as always!
I love how your compositions are so unexpected. It keeps me wondering what you're going to come up with next.

Mmmmmm ... yummy colors! You're so right about the difficulty of roses ... but it's all about the light, and you do that so well!
