I'll take a better picture of this one and repost it tomorrow. The sun goes down so EARLY this time of year way up here in Oregon. I had to take the picture inside and so the color isn't quite right.
Turns out the better picture isn't terribly different. But I do think it's better.

Despite the color not being right, I still love it. The combo of green and turquoise is wonderful.
Love the way the shadow is in three different colors. This is a challenge.
the colors look so vivid though...
congratulations for your work... in general!
greetings from greece!
I do appreciate the simplicity of your still lifes.
The colors are clear and brilliant! I have been meaning to tell you-just yesterday I had one of those ugh days when my hands just would not communicate with my brain. I had to scrap the painting and dare not touch any others. Then after cleaning up for the day, I remembered you said you had wasted 6 hours painting only to wipe it all off...and I was oddly comforted that for me, this too shall pass. I started over today and was much more successful. Thanks Carol for sharing your oopses too!
The decisiveness with which your choose your color hue/value/intensity perfectly for EACH stroke boggles my mind. I could sit and stare at the lovely and interesting color choices you made for the handles and shadows on your cup for hours, and be quite happy. This painting is both exciting and meditative at the same time--do they call that conceptual contrast? I love it!
I just love this one Carol!! The composition, the shadows, the reflected color.... :)
doesn't matter. It's fabulous!
