Holiday Spirit

I found these little (snow?) people at the thrift store last week. I was trying and trying to arrange them with this gold ornament sitting on the ground, to no avail. It was (yawn) so boring. I decided they were going to have to do some work for me and hold it up between them. And you know? they didn't even complain afterwards.

OK, I have to honest, the first thought that came to my mind was "Oh, so cute!"
Than I made the image larger and got mesmerized looking at the brush stroke variations and the perfect reflections.
Carol, you ARE a genius!

What a great idea! I love the whole shape; and the implied tension of them leaning to hold the ball. Wonderful.

Carol, this is one of my all-time favorites of yours! Says so much with so little! LOVE the gold ball, too!

Enjoy your first December in Oregon! Enjoy Jacob! xo

the lights and darks in the piece are great. You say they didn't complain but the guy on the left looks like he has a bit of an attitude...hahaha.

This is just so cute. I love how creative you are with setting up your still lifes and hey you rescued them from the thrift store they owe you. They should be good little models, lol.

Love this composition can I steel it to use with two little penquins I have? I have been trying to paint Christmas balls but it's very hard. My hat is off to you as usual.
