I'm going back to my roots with this one - from above, on a plate, with polka-dots to boot! But these tomatoes - oy - they gave me some heartache. Because they are fairly translucent, any value shifts become very subtle. I had a heck of a time getting it right - started this one over 2 or 3 times.

They all can't be master pieces. But maybe it's just me. Still love you.
The rebellious one says "the polka dots look like marshmallows" so perhaps the title should be "Rounds with Squares". It is a lively painting!

Awesome paintings you put up!! Also love the 10 minute challenge you post a little while back, I will definitely make use of that! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Carol - I really like this painting. My favorite parts are the shadow under the plate, and the reflection of the bottom tomatoe onto the plate. Soo good! You inspire me.
I love all your work! These colors just pop! It's incredible.
They turned out very nice and the values read well.
Great post, You make it all look so easy it is great to hear that you still get "stumped" from time to time and have to start over. I used to never re-start a painting till i read about you doing it awhile back and i have had the courage to take the palette knife and rag to a board ever since.
Thanks for the new challenges also!
