I've decided to venture into figures a bit. I've always taken pictures of people when I see something compelling, though I see now I haven't taken NEARLY enough. Because I am loving this! And I want to paint more and more and more.
This is really cool, Carol. It really makes me think about how you stress "suggesting" in your workshop. You've done that beautifully here. I totally see these people and how they are walking, dressed, etc., but when I look closely, it's just suggested, not laid out in detail. The abstractness of the background is also very appealing.
I opened this up on Daily Paint Works and it took my breath away.
What's really evident here is your mastery of materials which I've come to believe is a crucial and overlooked element in the success of a painting and contributes greatly to consistency in an artist's work.
Your unique style sets it all off. Slam Bangin' !!!!!
Really a winner! You suggested just enough to make all those figures believable and uniquely themselves. Love the abstraction of the background. And there are a million more!
It has been great watching you learn and grow artistically over the last few years. Taking on challenges is the way to go. Thank you so much for the little tips that you learn as you go also. Your last Demo vid was excellent. Please ! more of that when you have time! Thanks! Bill

I love the figures, Carol. I hope you do paint more and more and more!
4 figures in 6 x 6, I'm impressed!
Fantastic! You've captured the movement of the group but especially the movement in that guy's left arm! Wonderful!
This is stunning, infinitely more interesting than the still lifes! More please.
Oh you must, this is a beauty, it really shows off your wonderful brush skills
Great composition. The freshness and spontaneity are spot-on!

Love your figures Carol and how you have played with the bright sunlight and shade.

Spectacular. Do more Carol.
This is super! The movement of the figures is right on and the suggested background is perfect.
These are looking great Carol. I was wondering when you were going to do figures. There fun to paint and challenging too.
Awesome video. I'm a big fan of finger picking guitar music also. Check out Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, amazing stuff.
