"Lobsterland" - SOLD

On the second afternoon painting in Maine, the sun went away again. We were in Rockland and I'm not sure exactly where we painted, but it was geared towards lobster (surprise surprise!). While we were waiting for our burgers at lunchtime (sun still around) I got this picture of my painting buddies for the day: Bruce, Colin, Mary Anne, and Brenda.

That's cool that you got to paint with Colin. Looks like this might be McLoon's Wharf in Spruce Head.
All three of these Maine paintings are great.

It must be so nice to get out of the studio! I like these pieces... your boat from yesterday was precious.

Hey Carol,

It was a great time getting to meet you and paint next to you. I hope we can do it again sometime.

Frank's right that we were in Spruce Head in the afternoon. The morning painting was at Owl's Head. Good luck with your painting.

My husband and I were in Rockland in 2001 and loved it. I suppose you've had East Coast scallops. The first time we had fresh ones was in Rockland and I still think about them. They were AWESOME! Thanks for bringing back memories with this charming piece. This may be my favorite of your landscape paintings- and not just because of the memories.

I like the looseness,(sp) of your brush work. Red buildings are also sometimes hard to capture. It tells a good story

Another great painting, Carol! I like your underpainting peeking through and those great red buildings.

This one is my favorite, I can't believe you can fit so much in such a small size, and have it work so well! ( I hate to tell you it is so hot and sunny in Maine this week) You'll have to come back!

I love all the different grays in this one and the way you simplified the trees. . .
