"Schluchsee Bridge" - SOLD

Schluchsee is a small, tourist town, complete with lake and beautiful bridge. I painted this in the morning and the light changed very quickly (as it always does, of course). I have a bad habit of chasing the light ... changing my painting as the light changes. I do this because I can't remember how it looked before. Bad Carol! I do paint fast, but not fast enough, and certainly not fast enough to capture the train running over the bridge every so often.

Carol, I love how you handled all of the reflections going on with the water and the bridge...it gives it such nice depth.
Enjoy your trip!

exquisite!!! - and as to your comments the other day wondering about values, warms, cools, in the distance...there's a wonderful book by john carlson on landscape painting - i have read it cover to cover - a time or two - he addresses everything in there! - but i actually think you're figuring it out quite well all by your lonesome!

your paintings are all wonderful! it's a common problem - "chasing" the light and shadows cast by the sun. no worries though, the output are beautiful...

Carol--dang it--you're just good, no matter what you do. Guess you can't help it. Enjoying seeing Germany through the eyes of the artist. Love 'em all, and enjoyed the more abstracted nature of Im Schwarzwald. Always a joy to see your work!
