This is a Flemish Giant rabbit. I thought it just meant the ears were long, but apparently it's also quite a large animal. I figure at least some of the photos online are real ... just do a search for "flemish giant" to see what I mean.

When I look for good reference images, I'm primarily looking for interesting value arrangements. I found a lot of these isolated animals with white backgrounds and while I love the simplicity and stark contrast, I didn't know if they would work with oil paint. But I love the result!

Do you know this song (see title)? I learned it in girl scouts probably. And I loved singing it, but my mother came to really hate it - so much that she banned it. I guess we overdid it. : ) But how else were we supposed to torture our parents?
