Overprotective

sold. (6x6in.)

Here's another one from eye-level. Someone told me once, long ago, never to paint a still life looking down because it looks like it's going to slide right off the table. Obviously I ignored them! But what do you guys think? Just curious...

It looks like your white cup on the lower right is about to take a header! Personally I prefer seeing still life in between totally down and at eye level. That's just because that is normally the way we see things displayed in the rooms around us.

Well... this one has me wondering what the bluegray area is? Because the yellow cup seems to be teetering on the brink of something...
Very striking though!

Well Matisse rocked it by breaking rules. You can too! I like looking down because it gives it a less traditional look and more contemporary feel. But's it's all about personal preference. If you like it- do it! IMHO.

A strange idea. When was the last time one crouched down to look at a table? When one approaches the coffee table or the curio cabinet, it is from a height, we don't skootch down to look. We might pick up an object if we want a closer look at it, but we don't stoop down to look at it. Keep not listening, I think.
