Foreign Exchange Students

Here are some folks I spotted in San Francisco, huddled together, looking up English phrases. Or at least that's what I imagined they were doing. My sister spent her junior year in high school in Germany. I thought it was quite an adventure, but didn't want to learn another language (which is funny now that I'm learning German), so I spent my own junior year in Seattle, (coming from a small town in Texas) living with some friends of the family. It was quite a year. Quite the learning experience.

It's been some time since I've visited - lord knows why. Your work is so excellent and it boggles my mind how you manage to do them daily. I am a slow boat. Love your compositions and the crisp values in all of your recent pieces. I love paintings like this one - I am really taken by how you described these three and captured so much of their interaction without the fine details.
