Backlit City

sold

I forget where in NYC I took the picture for this one, but it was somewhere near a police station, for sure. I love the tiny bits of light that set the heads of the people apart from the buildings.

I am so amazed you can get so much information on such a small canvas and have it be so successful. I love all of your work and think you are the master of highlights. Do you ever paint rainy or gloomy day settings?

I love New York. This painting really seems to capture the beauty of the busy city. The extra light in the painting really makes a huge difference. I would love to go back to New York.

I knew before I read the post that they were police. It's wonderful that you can convey all that information with a few strokes of your brush!
