I've been looking through my old paintings lately and noticing how my compositions have been getting more and more complicated. So I've been trying for simple the last few days.
simple....but you did give yourself a wonderful perspective challenge. The flower is dead-on gorgeous and I especially love the dynamic shapes on the table top!
Love the sharp angles of the vase contrasted with the soft curves of the tulip. I like how the top of the vase is warm in the light, and you gradually shifted to cool in the shadow. You "saw" that so well. You really nailed the inner values on the tulip petals, too.
I enjoy looking at your work so much. Simplification is good but in looking at your past work, I enjoy it also and how you do simplify complicated images. In other words, I think you're too close to your work to see that. Monica

I love your sense of design, sense of color, and sense of humor!
