Bird, Suitcase, Bike

close-up of "Bird, Suitcase, Bike"
I did this larger painting yesterday from a photo I took in Freiburg, Germany a couple of years ago. The sign at the top reads "Engel - Apotheke" which means Angel Pharmacy. Here is the close-up of the lady. -->

So, what's funny about this is it had 2 more people in it, but they were both in awkward positions so I left them out. My husband came in and said, "These 2 look awful lonely." I puzzled over it for about an hour and finally looked up pictures of pigeons (which we see in Freiburg) in similar light and added one along the bottom. I don't usually add things like that, but I think it turned out really well.

In other news, I took some frozen pictures yesterday, and finished my quilt!

This is beautiful Carol - I think you made a good call and you did a great job of "pasting" the bird into the scene - looks like it belongs. I imagine scaling it took some extra thought. I also like that it's facing out - makes me feel that there's life happening beyond the frame.

Wow - lovely! I'm a new fan and have been working on a 42x36 for a year now (talk about procrastination!)
I love your use of color and also just the suggestion of spokes. I've been so mired with getting detail perfect - thanks for freeing me!
