My son's Oma here in Germany got him 2 rabbits: Tom (black) and Jerry (gray). She thought they were both boys but, WOOPS, one is a girl. So, not wanting more rabbits, she had one fixed. I showed her this painting and she said "Tom und erdbeeren!" (Tom and strawberries). Hence the title.
I love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was raised by two fabulous women. Mom worked, our Oma was like Mom. She was my favorite person in all the world. Unfortunately, I never learned to speak German, but I LOVE traveling with you Carol and David. Thanks for including us & bringing back the best of memories. The bunny is gorgeous and so is the strawberry, the fork, etc etc.
ReplyDeleteI love how you convey so much detail through seemingly so few brushstrokes. I started a daily painting project as well and I always looking forward to your posts each day.
ReplyDeleteMasterful! Even your differentiation of brushmarks on different object well describe the textures of each objects. I love the design, atmosphere, reflected color scheme, and everything about it! I am so excited to be taking your class in Illinois in December '11!!!!!!
