Recently I painted a little gift box with crepe paper in it. I really enjoyed the challenge of capturing the thin, delicate paper, so I ran with it here. I had to be really careful with the subtle shifts in value. Quite a challenge!
I love the sort of unexpected color combination with the pinkish-purple tissue paper. Your shadows always read so perfectly, Carol. It's like you're squeezing light rather than paint from your tubes. And what really stands out for me is how shiny you get opaque paint to look! Well done! Bren
Love this painting Carol. The intensity of the red apples next to their cast shadows work. I especially like the apple stems. with their contrast in value, they help anchor the apples as well as give direction toward the main subjects.

Well done; good contrast, great shadows.
You always make it look easy though!
The apple shadows are magical. I do think you've found a magic carpet!
