I've been hesitant to announce that I'm in Sedona for an extra week painting with friends because ... well, frankly, at this point, I'm 2 for 7. Meaning of the 7 paintings I've done so far, I've not wiped 2. Sigh. It's such an overwhelmingly beautiful place, and I'm struggling. But I'm having an absolute blast with my friends, drinking LOTS and LOTS of wine, and getting just a little sunburned and bug bit. Tomorrow we're off to Jerome for a healthy dose of old trucks. I have a feeling my odds will be a little better there. Photos coming ...

Plums on Tissue - SOLD

You are in Northern Arizona for goodness sakes. You can find old trucks in Texas.
While in Arizona paint the Arizona Landscape.
I'm just saying.
Wonderful painting with gorgeous plums and the shadows are fabulous. I can't wait to see photos from Jerome especially...you do trucks really well and I just know you won't have any wipers there:) So glad y'all are having a blast:)
you can find old trucks in indiana!! - but i know what you mean about the view...sometimes too much of a good thing can be a bad thing!! use that trusty viewfinder!!! and you are one lucky girl!!...i'm just saying...
Those plums on that tissue paper are beautiful. What a great color combo.
I was thinking that I'd come up with something clever or possibly even profound (*snort*, riiiight) that might help you feel better, but I got nothin' so instead I'll just say: You rock. Wipers suck, no denying it, but you still rock. You'll be 7 for 7 soon enough.
Hey, those plums are not showing any cleavage!
I am still in Sedona, painting plein air, by myself, up Schnebly Hill Road; Beautiful vistas, also getting getting bit by those blood sucking teensy black bugs. Ah, the challenges of painting outdoors.
Found a couple of nice old trucks here in town.
Headed toward Glen Canyon today. Getting out of town just in time, as you see, cloud cover. Enjoy Jerome. Hopefully you'll have nice weather. Susan
Your paintings are amazing. I took a workshop from an artist who said we all have bad paintings in us, so get out there and paint and get through some of the bad paintings. Have fun in Sedona, it is beautiful.
So fun! I bet I know who some of those friends are! Happy Painting!
Thanks, Carol. You gave me hope when you shared that you only kept two paintings out of the seven. Good to know it happens to a painter or your calibre. Is it the strong, complentary colors you find a tad more difficult?
By the way...Jerome is where my hubby, Jim was born. See the hospital on the hillside...or has it slid down by now!
Hey Carol
:-D
Paint what you fancy wherever you are.
Just sayin...
Wipers - that's what makes all the rest such a marvel. Go Girl.
What's wrong with Frank?
Carol.. paint what moves you wherever you are, and don't let anyone dictate what you choose!
