Losing Myself - SOLD

Lately I've been feeling very rut oriented. Like, I'm in one. So I've decided to mix up my still life with a few more ... non-still life subjects. I've been out taking photos of people and things, and you'll start seeing more of them going forward. For starters, here's another chicken. This one is not for sale. It is a gift for a crazy lady in Germany. I'm calling it "Proud Feather".

Funny you say rut. I say locked in again. 'Disassembled' was sick (awesome). But if you mean the subject matter, maybe try more landscapes.. You have to do them Carol. You will kill them eventually. Just think of them as chickens.

Spring seems to be "rut season" for many of us, at least from what I am hearing. The chickens I painted for your challenge last week helped nudge me out of a bit of a rut, so maybe they are the painter's version of chicken soup for a cold.

This latest chicken painting made me laugh; he looks a bit confrontational!

What a treat to get two paintings in one post. I can't wait to see what you dive into next-whatever it is you will make it yours!

I love the chicken Carol. What a nice gift for your crazy lady. I have been thinking about your paintings and how you have an ensemble cast with different stories each week. Or maybe like family always having adventures. But maybe like too close families, you need to get away for a little break and then come back to your familiar family group with renewed energy. I know we will love whatever you do! Gloria

Love the way you painted this bottle.
Excited to see what's to come....

Thank you all so much! Gloria, you hit the nail on the head! I love still life and always will. But lately I just need a little variety. And chickens ... yes, maybe they ARE good for the artist's soul!! I love that. Thank you all for your support through this!!

I want this chicken as my next pet. I'd teach her to fetch. Oh, and I wish I were in a rut--if it meant I'd paint this beautifully.

I love chickens too. They're so industrious and they're pretty.
