A while ago, on a whim, I bought a few teensy panels - 4x4inches. They sat around for a while until recently, when I decided to give them a go. So I thought, what would be better on a teensy little canvas than a teensy little bird?! I also thought - oh, this is so small and simple, it'll be a breeze. WRONG! It took me 2 tries and many hours to get this the way I wanted. Who'da thunk it.

Too cute. My favorite part is the beak.
But it totally rocks : )
exceptional
So cute and cheerful. And it seems that the smaller and simpler something seems, the more complex it becomes.
I bought some of the 4x4s on a whim too and they really are difficult! I found that the 5x5s were okay, things went fast on them but 4x4 is really tiny!
This painting is vibrant, fun, and marvelously well done. I love how there is perspective and I get a feel for the shapes; can nearly feel the shiny enamel feel of the bird. I was having a sad day & it lifted my spirits, too!
Your work is beautiful! I love your brushstrokes and how you model your subjects. This one is great!
You do yellow really, really well.
