"Country Road" - SOLD
Click Here to Bid (will begin Monday, 9/7/09, 8pm, pst)
I admit I have an affinity for windy roads in paintings. This scene is not too far from the house - a 5 minute walk. About 20 minutes after I set up and started painting I felt a tickle on my leg. I looked down and to my horror saw ants everywhere! Including crawling up my pants. I literally had ... ants in my pants. Luckily, they didn't bite, and I was able to move back and few feet and still get the same view.

Really nice Carol. Great composition and so three-dimensional.
I've been loving these landscapes, and now this story makes this one even more special! I actually had a similar story, at the edge of the beach I stood on a HUGE ant hole. Needless to say they were swarming up my leg - yikes! Unlike you, I packed up, went home and showered! I'm glad you didn't!
Yikes! I have had that happen too! Makes a great story to tell, but it isn't so great when you first find out what is crawling up your leg!
Love the windy roads, too, and all of your paintings for that matter. Have fun! Tschüs!
wow, lucky you weren't bitten! Wonderful light in this one Carol. Looks like you are having a wonderful and productive time. Are you learning German too?
Hi, Carol! I love this....everything about it. Colors, composition, your brush strokes. It makes me happy! Enjoy!
I love seeing how you handle landscapes. Thanks so much for posting these in the middle of what I'm sure is a very full vacation!
Oh the things we go through for our work. Ants in your pants, lol... I bet it's gorgeous there right now.
What a treat to see these paintings from your trip. Thank you for your great work.
(By the way, I was painting outside one fine day and found the perfect spot--on an anthill! They were the biting kind and found their way into my bra! NIGHTMARE!)
Could have been a great title as well, 'Ants in my pants'.
It's so great to see how incredible well your style translates to landscapes.
Beautiful landscapes. This one has lots of depth and a story to boot! Keep on having fun.
