This time I used a green ground (as opposed to yesterday) as an experiment. I like them both for different reasons.

Alive and fresh! Lovely.

what medium do you use for your ground? is it different than the rest of the painting? do you dry the ground or wipe it off before painting on it?

Absolutely lovely. Thanks for sharing the experiments. These look so cool and comfortable.

As always, you have nailed the essence of your subject with very few strokes: these berries look juicy enough to eat. Yum! Another delightful painting!

Love this version. I feel like I can pick the berries off the table. And the mauve is such an interesting color choice that works so well here. Great picture.

These are dark and rich. Very nice choices in complements and background.

Thank you all!!!

Leo- For the ground I use mineral spirits to thin a color (no medium). I wipe it down pretty thoroughly afterwards with a paper towel before I paint, but it is still wet when I do.
