When I set this up it had a great glow that I really wanted to capture. A glow through the peeled orange and also a lightness over the whole thing. I was also trying to DEFINE a little less than usual, and capture a feeling instead. It's a step in a direction I want to go. I have to remind myself that I can't get there in one painting ... it's a process. It's my mantra in general, and I find it makes me very happy. Life is a process - enjoy it.

This painting makes me happy! Great colors, composition and reflection. I love it!
I agree with LSaeta... and thanks for the advise, I'll try!
It DOES glow, it's beautiful. Just lovely.
What a nice desaturated colours, really delicate light, perfetto!
Carol!
The thing I love most about this painting is that the reflections help make the negative space so interesting.
Great job with that!
Lots of muted colors being snuck into the painting too which adds further depth and interest.
A deceptively simple still life!

Wow, great painting in every way. Your process for less definition is progressing at a fast rate of speed. Well done!
Love the composition, Carol. Beautiful glow.
I really appreciate you sharing steps in your new direction. I am doing same and admire your spirit.
Lovely! This is one of your best so far. You managed to convey a horizontal reflective surface with a vertical background without using one sharp(defining) line. Just soft edges and a slight color shift. And I love how the neutral gray mixes bring out the more saturated colors in the orange and the glass. You are well on your way....
Juicy!
This reads really well, even though it is so loose.
Love the reflections.
Thanks so much for mentioning me in one of your recent blog posts! I appreciate your thoughtfulness and generous compliments :) I have been admiring your paintings over the Internet and wanted to let you know the feeling is mutual. You are most definitely a painter’s painter! Your lively paintings display confidence, skill and talent.
I LOVE the juicy, bold brushwork and colors.
The light, color, brushwork are all quite gorgeous. And I particularly like that the back edge of the table is just the slightest suggestion. In fact, I think I perhaps imagined that edge. Your painting reads so well that that is a real possibility.
