"Purple & Green" - SOLD

This is one of my favorite color combinations. I have painted a few ahead because this weekend we are officially moving into our new house! So you'll still see paintings from me, I'll just be busy doing other things. I have been really organized packing my stuff and will hopefully be painting again in a few days. Sometime this weekend I'll try to remember to snap some pictures of our new house for anyone interested.

Whoo-hoo, Carol! I'm first!

We moved the week before thanksgiving and the first stuff I moved was my most immediate and frequently used studio supplies. My new studio is not finished out yet, but I have taken over the breakfast room with a huge bay window that faces north. My clothes are still in boxes, one of the garages is still full, and I can just ignore it and paint every day.

And loving it!

This one is striking. Your yellow grapes glow as a focal point with the purple cup behind them, the glossy texture of the cup connects them well and the muted green background moves back well. The dark brown side of the background further pushes the grapes forward and reminds me of Rembrandt, so does the shadowed dark neutral cloth under everything.

It's classic. It's very simple and powerful. Its elegance is profound. I'd bid if I had any budget.

As a veteran of many moves I always say, first thing you do after the van is unloaded is unpack the bedding and make up the bed. That way when you are so tired you can't do anything more, you can just fall into bed and sleep.

I love the paintings you do, i found your blog on my fathers, and i love how your paintings are kinds that would look great in a home for decorations. The colors, fuits, and strokes are beautiful. Great job
