"Turn Around"

BUY NOW $70

You'd think this would have taken no time at all, but it was hard work getting all those petals in the right place. Flowers are tricky because if you go through and do the petals one at a time, by the time you're through they don't look right altogether. My best flowers have come from really really squinting and getting the basic, over-all values in first, then refining and refining until they look like petals.

Wonderful painting!
If you don't mind me asking, what is your favorite surface to work on?

Ah, really excellent advice. Your light values are always so RIGHT ON... I need to squint more!

I love the color and the big shape on this one. I agree, the best flowers are the result of 'squinting', and then refining. This one'll go quick, I think.

Carol I visit your blog often and admire your work. This is especially well done. The petal are exquisite. Could you share with me what kind of camera you use to photograph your art? Thanks, Judy Nocifora

You always intrigue me with your colors. The background against the flower make for such a interesting combination. Just plain beautiful.

Oh I love this! I find flowers so difficult to do. I'll have to give it a squint.

Thank you all so much for your kind comments!

Judy, I use a Sony Cybershot to photograph my paintings. I have 2 and they are both great cameras!
