These are some pears I painted right before I left. I was ahead by a few then so I'll post those when my demos sell - as it did today. Below are a few students hard at work. I am lucky - I got another great group!
I'm amazed that you can accomplish such a beautiful painting as you are preparing to leave for a workshop. I so admire your discipline. I'm crazy about the background and shadows. Gotta go for it.jb
We have all seen a million pear paintings, but this one has special appeal. I think it is the way you have them all huddled together in a small area of the canvas, and of course that killer shadow.
The pears have "presence", which is what makes your paintings of ordinary stuff, unique. The student work looks great too. I think I see my pal KCM in the background. Would love to be there but I have "March" in my future :)

I'm a fan of these pears, too. I like the out-liney quality, the colors and shadows. Maybe I just prefer pears to tomatoes!
