I am LOVING making my own fabric designs. Above are peppers on more stamped fabric, and below is the larger (20"x20") painting I did today, and the background fabric was created by cutting 2 colors into strips and sewing them together. It was a bit of work, but totally worth it. Tonight I went and bought a whole bunch of new colors for more stripes. Dude!
Today, in the mail, I received some M. Graham & Co. paints & medium. I didn't order it, so I'm a bit perplexed. There's no note, so if someone out there sent this to me, please let me know. If it's promotional, how did they find me? I'm not familiar with the company, but I'll try them out and tell you what I think.

M Graham is a paint company here in Oregon. I use their watercolor, gouache and oil paint and like it very much, although I must admit that what I like most about the oil paint is the wider mouth on the tube.
I didn't send the paint to you, however.
The 20" x 20" is just a wonderful piece. I particularly like the handling of the flowers and the striped background. What hard work to sew each stripe! I bet it got your creative juices flowing for how great the painting would come out.
Would you care to show a photo of the fabric for comparison to the painting? It would be interesting to see it.

M. Graham paint is made in Portland Oregon. I also received some paint sample from their sales rep after I did an art festivalhere in Portland. I wanted to send a thank you, but as you said there was no note. I have been using the oil paint ever since. It's really beautiful paint to work with. It contains walnut oil rather than linseed oil, but is compatible with any other brands of oil. So, give it a try!
I'm really enjoying your handmade fabric...beautiful colours and patterns. They really add to your work. I use the M.Graham oils because of allergies in my family, and I absolutely love them.
Love the larger painting with the striped fabric - I'm always in awe of the energy you bring to your paintings!
I used to use M. Graham paints before I discovered Utrecht. The walnut oil base makes them smell nice, and they reall are nice buttery paints with good pigment. I stopped using them because I liked the Utrecht paints just as much and they're more affordable. I still use M. Graham walnut oil when I'm looking for an alternative to mineral spirits and stinky mediums in the studio. Have fun trying them out (and figuring out where they came from)!

I apologize for accidentally deleting the comment I wrote last night - I didn't realize what I was clicking on. Anyway, I merely wrote that I adore that still life with the plates - the 20x20 painting. It has so many textures and surfaces - shows your technical prowess and your expressive eye all at once. I just love that painting. Classic realism and expression all together.

Somehow I missed this posting - I LOVE the 20x20 still life; it combines the best of everything you do!
I just have a couple of tubes of M Grahams, but like the texture of the paint very much.
