"Carnation Cup" --- SOLD

I am finding that my wonderful new Windsor & Newton, Monarch brushes are wearing out. They're getting a bit frazzled on the ends, even though I clamp them in cardboard every night. So, I figured since it had been quite a few months, I would go out and buy some new brushes. And it's like magic all over again! This one seemed to paint itself - such a wonderful experience. Thanks to all of you who have offered such kind comments about my daycare and sick experiences!

You caught me - I admit it, I painted this one yesterday before I got to feeling too bad. I painted a couple more too (I was on a roll, and Jacob was watching movies with my step-daughter), so expect to see those in the next couple of days. : )

Woops, I commented on the wrong post. I meant to respond to a comment on "Buncha Slices," yesterday's post.

What new brushes did you get? Monarch again or did you try something new? Inquiring minds want to know. :o)

Carol,
This painting is a fantastic stand out! Seems almost abstract in design, beautiful!

Day care and school. I think they must manufacture cold viruses there. Our kids just keep bringin' em home!

Hang in, girl. Rest is sometimes forced upon us. Take care and get well!

I love the smell of carnations they bring me back to a time about 30 or 35 or 40 years ago. I take care of my three year old grandchild. I can't paint unless she's in preschool. Your son will get used to it and you will too.

Carol,
Feel better soon. You still manage to paint beautifully even when under the weather.

I remember when you said you first bought one of those Monarch brushes. I've used them and still have a few. I really like them, especially for working on slick surfaces like masonite. But they do not last long and they are really expensive. When I was using them I tried everything I could think of to keep them in shape. I really babied them. Now I use cheap hog bristle brushes and never wash them or take care of them. They seem to last longer and I can afford to replace them when the wear out.

I'm still loving your work.
