So, I've been working lately on value - specifically on getting the lights light enough. To really experiment I did a few with very little color. Now I'm getting back to full color, here especially. I doughted myself about halfway through this one and almost wiped it off, but in the end I finished it and feel so much more confident about value.

You are the hardest working painter I know. I am challenged by peaches. The yellow that is in shadow is still pretty dark yet screams yellow. Don't even get me started on the red trailing into the yellow and the bright highlights on a matte surface. Have you any thoughts?
Hi Carol, Happy Thanksgiving. I love your work, so I have chosen to "Tag" you to post five random or weird things about yourself on your blog. I was given this task, and since I respect your work so much, I would like you to be one of the five people that I must pass this on to.
The rules, my list and why I chose you are on my blog. frankgardner.blogspot.com
Sorry to bother you. But I could not let the ball drop and you are one of the best painter/bloggers I know.
Frank
Wow! A painting a day. Your work is lovely, I love your colour choices and ypour brushwork is really exciting and full of life. I found you through Frank Gardner's blog and I'm glad I did.
What a delight to find these pieces. I'm particularly taken by the apples. YOur style is wonderful - great use of colour. Delicious!
I'm so glad you didn't wipe this off the canvas.
It's really lovely and you nailed the values.
Congrats on yet another win!
Wonderful use of colour and form.
I guess my spelling of colour marks me out as a colonial. Indeed my partner Michael and I braced ourselves against reputedly outlandish customs charges here in the UK and bought this painting because we thought it was (and is) beautiful.
Thank you Carol.
