"Four Eighths" --- SOLD

I finally got sick of the pitcher and apple. Anyone have a preference of the 5?

I find I really enjoy painting this way the most - several similar objects, usually fruit, from above, including shadows. I like the bright colors and the simplicity of it. It's what I always come back to after trying other things. It's my safety net.

One thing I learned with this one, is that if I dull down the background a bit, the bright orange really pops! So I just added a touch of red and yellow to my blue background to gray it down just a little. I think it's actually a little brighter here than in reality. It's so hard to capture the painting exactly with a camera.

Hi, I like the first one best. It is the most "Carol Marine" ish to me. Seems happier. Which is what I love about your paintings...and the color. The orange slices are great.

Your orange slices are beautiful. Thanks for sharing about the background. I love to hear your tips and thoughts.

I agree and concur with Debbie. The first is my fav and it is more classic Marine and a nice dynamic color triad. The others feel moodier and I don't feel as much color pop and value contrast.

What are you going to use the duck-billed pitcher for now? I think you should paint the top yellow and the body white with a black dot to make it really quack. hee hee

I vote for #1 because I like the light background, especially the gold fabric. The contrast is great and the painting feels happy. But, I also really like the bottom left passage of #5 - the apple on the white fabric, I love the way you painted the white fabric. I'm in awe of the way you handle creases and folds in fabric.

I think they are all little gems! I love the close compliments of #1 like everyone, but I also really like the light in #5 and I love the subtle blues of the pitcher in #4 and all your edges. Thanks for sharing!

I have to vote for #4. I like the mysterious feel to it.

I like the way that you made the fruit and vases glow. A quick question do you intend in the future to sell the paintings at a gallery space or has selling via the blog site been succesfull for you. I would look great being able to see them all together in one space.

Thanks you guys. 1 and 5 are my favorites.

Andrew, as soon as my son is older and I have more time in the day to paint, I plan to paint larger works and put them in galleries. At this point, I am happy with ebay for my small paintings.
