I painted this as an example for
this week's Daily Paintworks Challenge. I thought it would be fun and, well, challenging. The instructions say you can slice up anything, and arrange it any way you like. But no one has taken me up on it yet! Be the first one...please?
Very fun painting! Rockin Reds!
ReplyDeleteLove this one. Reminds me of the start of the movie cube.
ReplyDeleteBy the way Carol, do you protect the sides of the Ampersand gessobord from oil by putting some sort of gesso or similar on the sides and/or back as well.
Thanks Helen!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you, Sarmed! No, I don't add anything to the sides or backs of my Ampersand boards. Honestly I have never thought of it, but it also doesn't seem to be a problem. Sometimes a little paint gets on the sides, but I don't think that hurts the panel. And if it hurts the paint down the road, well I guess since it's on the side it doesn't really matter. Please let me know if I'm not understanding...
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS!!!
ReplyDeleteThe colors are delicious and the edges rock!
Hey there,
ReplyDeleteIn terms of the sides of gesso boards, I would size them with the acrylic gesso. Here in Canada, Ampersand boards come with a bevelled edges, therefore they need to get protected from oil.
I do find the painting brilliant!
