This is another scene from New York City. The photo showed all the darks the same, but I find that if I can make the darkest darks in the background a little lighter than those in the foreground, it really works well to show perspective.

ReplyDeleteI love this painting, and your comments. This week on Facebook I noticed that someone had posted this same scene, probably painted from your photo, but without crediting you for the photo. Does that strike a sour note, or does it matter to you?

ReplyDeleteAnonymous, it's no problem. I actually posted the reference photo for this one as a challenge for other people to paint as well. So I expected it. : )
