Loose Gathering

sold

I love these colors together. Oh gosh, writing that reminds me of how I got in trouble for this exact comment in college. In order to get an A, what I should say is - the fork is meant to create a unique tension between the apples and flowers, while the plate derogates the insidious barbarity we often feel when our dogmas castigate our followers. : ) (don't try to decode that - it means absolutely nothing)

  1. Love the colors, love the painting,...love the obscure, mysterious meaning behind it all!

  2. Lol, you speak my language. Love this, the red apples lead my eye right into those crisp white flowers.

  4. I know I've been commenting a lot - but, lol! I did not have the benefit of an art education. About 6 months ago, I went to a presentation by recent graduates in which they talked about their work. It was exactly like that! To this simpleton, seems to me you would not have a letter "D" without the fork! ;) Do I get an A? I like your color choices too.

  5. LOL! Such a great example of "art speak", in all its pretentiousness and nonsense! ;)

  9. I once frustrated my painting teacher in college by looking at Maxfield Parrish instead of Diebenkorn.

  10. Ha! :) Way to stick to pretense Carol - it always seems to creep in and ruin the fun if you let it. Great post and painting.

  13. You are full of interesting ideas. I just looked at the artbyte on the "Block" and there was so much I could relate to, but I was surprised that no one mentioned the "F" word....FEAR. I think that is the number one cause for me.

  14. Way to expose the Artspeak malarkey. That is exactly the reason I thought I didn't belong as an Art Major and quit college. Haha, now I am an artist and those guys are probably still teaching, wishing they could paint and sell.
