Forever ago I bought some fabric paint called Neopaque, and have just started to experiment with it. It's great stuff. Way better than just plain old acrylic paint (duh). You iron it afterwards which gets out all the kinks from the wet paint. I painted these little circle-dots yesterday and today found cherries were back in again! Yay!
Simply amazing-makes me want to paint-instantly!
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo beautiful, Carol. I love the creamy interior of the cup, with those subtle shadings. And the depth of the shadow side of the cup! And the cherries partly in shadow and partly in light! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI want to move the cherries into the circles of the fabric! Very playful.
ReplyDeleteCool + nice painting.
ReplyDeleteLove this. The new pattern is so cute and I love the turquoise color. The dots with the cherries really works too. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Your work is always stellar, but this one is particularly good - did you underpaint in orange? Was it a wet undertone? Looking forward to learning more in August - see you soon!
ReplyDeleteThis is darling! Love the turquoise & red combo! One of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteThis painting just makes me smile. Beautiful work, Carol!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, paint your own patterned fabric and then paint the fabric in the still life. I think the possibilities are endless here. I am also enjoying what looks to be like areas of thicker paint versus thinner painted areas. I like this painting a lot!
ReplyDeleteHi Carol,
ReplyDeleteLove the whole composition, the colors, the fabric, the cup!
But, I want to eat those cherries they look delectable!
Hi Carol, well I guess I am number 1,156. I don't thing I have ever seen that before. Wow.
ReplyDeleteI love your style...and your titles are clever too. Looking forward to seeing more and I plan to poke around from time to time to see what I've missed since 2006. :)
Greetings to you from Wichita, Kansas!
This is so much fun Carol. This is all about circles - the cup, cherries and fabric. The scale of each is just right and composed so thoughtfully. Wow!
ReplyDeleteCan you describe the fabric? Is this a blank fabric that you painted on?
ReplyDeleteIs it a special type of fabric?
Curious artists want to know.
Thanks,

Your work is always amazing but I find this piece extra great!
ReplyDeleteThanks you guys!!
ReplyDeleteLaurel, yes, the underpainting IS orange. And yes, it was wet. : ) I talk a lot about this in my ArtByte called "Keep Your Oils Fresh and Loose": http://www.dailypaintworks.com/ArtTutorials/ArtByteStore
