Eggless

I LOVE painting eggshells. I could do it all day. I saved these from my breakfast. My husband said, "It's kind of weird that you have eggshells on a plate. And sugar?" But they go together so well, don't they? "Yes, they do. And I guess that's all that matters." Good husband.

  1. The myriad of subtle touches in this painting like the butterscotch colored strip "wading" in the coffee (which I love) really keep the viewers eye moving around. Plus, you nailed all those difficult ellipses! Don't you ever rest, or get lazy and choose a simple set-up? No, never. Lovely painting!

  2. Il est bon de retrouver vos oeuvres après plus de 6 semaines d'absence... Je rentre tout juste des Philippines...
Là-bas les oeufs sont tous très blancs...
J'aime beaucoup la fraîcheur qui se dégage de votre peinture...
    Gros bisous

  4. What also works is the colors you've chosen. I love the mood this limited palette creates. I feel like I can see right through the coffee to the bottom of the cup, very impressive!

  5. I've often wondered " does she eat raw eggs for breakfast? :) You are really great at painting them, as you also are at painting forks, spoons, glass, plates, and the list goes on ans on. Your work is so fresh and alive. Always a pleasure to receive them in my inbox each morning. Keep up the good work, Carole.
    God bless.

  7. I Love, Love, Love this one.
So when are you having one of your workshops here in Malmö, Sweden? (well is kind of joking, but wouldn't mind).

    Great work as allways

  8. Somehow it does all work together! Wonderful painting. Love all the ellipses. And you do have a good husband ;-)
My husband keep giving me a hard time for the lovely green eggshells (from local chickens) I have sitting on the counter for a painting I want to do - at least yours gets it!!

  9. You do it so well too. We should have an eggshell challenge.
I like the way the coffee looks too. It really reads well.

  10. Can see the love and you did the egg shells so well. Love the shadow colors of the eggs. I think the egg shells make this white on white circle/ellipse design.

  11. Gorgeous painting! I think the sugar is quite appropriate given there is tea/coffee in the mix!

  13. I should try painting egg shells. I sure love yours with all of the different colors I see in them. Pinks, purples, warms and cools and yes the sugar works with this, sugar for your tea?? Come on, lol

After seeing this painting I immediately sprinkled some sugar on a pile of egg shells and then ate them. Every last one. And you know what? It tasted amazing!! Thanks Carol!
