Happy Happy

Here is my latest silly face painting. The teeth especially were super hard, but I am really happy with this one. I recognize now that these are incredibly personal so I've undecided to sell them. : ) I am going to frame them all at some point and hang them up together and it's going to be incredibly cool.

  1. It will be cool, Carol. Of the silly face paintings I like this one best. There's something whacky about a birthdaycake hat! Cheers, Ellen

  2. I'm glad. These faces deserve to be seen all together! This one IS awesome! And the teeth are done just right. You nailed those values!

(so...when do you think you'll have enough to exhibit? huh? huh?.. can't wait!)

  3. The face really works! It must have been hard to keep it simplified. I have that problem. Often I put in too much information - usually too much wrong information! Good Job!

  6. I totaly agree with Ellen. This is a marvelous portret.
And you made an admirable decision. You're a good person and a great (he)artist in the real meaning of the word (in my opinion, for what that's worth).

    Big hug

  8. The values and edges - rock solid three dimensionality -Wow!!

Collecting all of these into one show is a great idea -- I saw Kevin MacPherson's "Reflections on a Pond" and it was "incredibly cool". Each small painting seemed to amplify the power of the one next to it.

  9. Carol, these are really wonderful, I hope you will continue doing them. I did a blog post around Christmas about how my kids would co-operate with family pictures when they were younger as long as we'd agree to do a funny face one too. Turns out those are our favorite family pics, to the point that the best picture at my son's wedding was the funny face one with the new bride. You have tapped into a wise inner child and it is lovely!
