Strawberries and Milk

I did some work last year for Chinet, the paper plate company. I wasn't able to say much about it at the time, but I put the 4 paintings I did for them down below. I painted food, on paper plates (they added the edges of the plates around the food in photoshop). It was interesting. One of the things I painted was a fruit salad. We went around and around before hand about how it should look, and I finally cut the strawberries and they looked so cool! Anyway ... so I cut them for this painting and ... that's why? heh heh

This is really nice work. These paintings work great as a set.

  2. Looks very tasty :) It can become a new trend - to paint dishes from menu rather than to picture them by photocamera)

  3. Fabulous! All of it:) Love the strawberries and milk. The angular brushwork on the plate and glass are exceptional-admire the heck out of that! So tickled for you- love the feasts you painted for Chinet! The possibilities are endless dear friend= and you teach us that everyday. Thank you:)

  5. Another strawberry painting which I like more then the one yesterday. I wonder if it is because you cut the strawberries? This painting is like a breath of fresh air with the bright green background, the red of the strawberries, and the white of the milk. Love it!!!

  6. Wow Carol, these are amazing. I bet they were thrilled with them. The cut strawberries do look great , you don't see them painted that way too often.

  10. OK Carole, It's a mystery. Why the gorgeous food so luciously painted on paper plates with raggedy edges ... For a paper plate company?

  15. Very exciting work! Over the past year pastries have been creeping into my studio. I've been photographing them and painting them and some followers have wondered why. It's the color! It's the loose brush stroke that's attractive. Mine are still a bit busy. --I like the simplicity and abstract qualities of your work. Very impressive. How big are these painting--did I miss that? I'll take another look.
