My body is in Wisconsin but my mind is still back in Germany, I mean Texas, I mean ... where the heck am I anyway??? The cows were definitely in Germany. Am I tired or is this title just a wee bit obvious?!
Your work always amazes me. I enlarged this and it looks like every stroke was laid down and untouched pretty much. Wish I could be that confident and not play in my painting so much.
Carol I really love the interesting angles you select for some of your work. You have a fantastic sense of 'the picture'. Congratulations on your fine art.
This is my favorite- maybe cause I am a Georgia girl- who knows but LOVE the way you painted these heifers:) I really like the brushwork, the faces in the grass and the subtle value shifts....the diagonals are just pure Harley Brown via Carol Marine. Looks like that vacation to Germany was good for you- Moo Who:):) Glad you are back safe! Now don't over due and take care!
I have been watching your blog for a while now, and I have to tell you that I think you need to go to Germany on a regular basis - the entire Germany series is superb. Every one of these paintings is so chock full of life and you captured that life so well with an economy of strokes ... I don't know how you did it. I am in awe. Carolina
These cows are beautiful enough to marry. Wonderful handling.
ReplyDeleteLove this so much! The brush strokes are fluid and confident, and Cows are a great subject, always.

ReplyDeleteThis is a super painting...the colour and freedom of the brushstrokes are really very nice.

ReplyDeleteSO AWESOME! Where ever your mind was it was working in this painting!
ReplyDeleteMind boggling good:)
ReplyDeleteThe strong, sure strokes of the cows' markings are mesmerizing! Great painting!
ReplyDeleteExhaustion, yikes!

ReplyDeleteLove your painterly cows, but they could (if we didn't know your itinerary) be Wisconsin cows too. It's not called 'The Dairy State' for nuthin'.
ReplyDelete-Mooooooo-o-o-o-o! (w/ no German accent)
:)
