Carol these colors are as dynamic as it gets. The color, the negative spaces, the repetition - takes my breadth away. One of your best!!! And yes, it intimidates the heck out of me. Wish I could paint this.
I'm intimidated ... oh wait, it's not those guys, it's you. How can you put that cup, with the handle smack dab in the center of the composition and it still works. I'd be afraid to do that.
Carol, A strong composition. I'm so impressed with how well you made that direct frontal lighting so appealing and dimensional. Love the Variegated color of the large center cup and the forward facing handle. The little salt shaker is painted so well with such economy.Intriguing painting.

Solid and formidable, like a little army ready to take on anything with huge trumpets of confident colour. That handle facing forwards against the right angle of the blue mug is fantasticly directional. Breaking the rules works when you do it in style! I'm new to your work but love it's honesty, look forward to joining your email list.

I love this painting. Can't understand why that critic Frank had to cloak some mean-spirited poke at a different day's painting inside what tried to be colloquial ("Dude") and the raincoat of a question, falsely pretending incredulity. Be specific within the integrity of the piece, or you aren't helpful, Frank, to the artist or to others commenting.
How can there be so much impact in a little six inch painting? All I can say is WOW, because I love all the other comments and they've covered just about everything.( Love the very strong stem on the pear which shows he's no softie.)
Sort of, minus the salt shaker and pear it looks like a stack of dishes I wouldn't want to deal with. :D But then we would miss out on seeing how amazingly you painted that salt shaker, it just looks so right.
