This is the last mini one for a while. I thought I'd paint one of my favorite subjects - a broken egg. Usually I am able to break them open so the shell is in 2 perfect pieces. This time things went awry, but I liked it.
Yes!!!! I really like it. The egg looks so eggy and the shells create such a wonderful abstract surround. I love the little purple triangle shadow at the upper right.
Such a small painting has such a big spirit. I know it is 4" square but it seems like it is 4'! It is a little egg with a big abstract personality. I love it.
I can't get enough of these egg paintings. It's beautiful all the way around but my favorite little spots are the shadowy purple blues in the eggshells. Slammin'!
This is so wonderfully abstract, yet instantly recognizable. The subtle color shifts of those yellows and gray-pinks is just fantastic.

ReplyDeleteFrom a distance, this looks like a larger painting. It's magic how you can capture so much detail with so few brush strokes. Great work, Carol.

ReplyDeleteI would love to see you do a larger painting done using gianormous house painting brushes.. That would be cool.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! so much detail on such a tiny space. Every brush stroke counts!
